History of Spectrum High School

Spectrum School believes there is a need in Rockford for a High School that is more engaging, relevant and connected to the lives of students. Studies have shown that many of our high schools, even those that boast of high graduation and college attendance rates, do not meet the needs of students.  They rarely demand that students construct new knowledge, solve complex problems, integrate concepts and ideas across disciplines, communicate effectively, and work in diverse groups. Through the goals and principles outlined below, Spectrum High School will prepare students for work and life in the 21st century.
