Bio

I’m glad to be working with Spectrum. The staff and students here are very engaged, and it shows in the kids’ eagerness to learn.

My background has been closely connected to educators. I grew up with music teachers, and I’m also a husband and dad to teachers. From a front-row seat, I’ve seen what good instruction—which is at the heart of Spectrum—can do for students.

Although most of my career has been in technical support in a corporate environment, I was once a high school program administrator. I also managed a class full of high school correspondence students, doing my best to help them with everything from Algebra and English to Computer Science and Automotive Engineering. (I didn’t do the labs for automotive engineering!)

After hours, I enjoy exploring our great state parks and sailing in the summer. In the colder months, I enjoy speaking fluent movie quotes. Like my grandfather, who was sad when college ended because he enjoyed learning so much, I try to keep learning throughout life in little ways. One of those is doing some Duolingo every day. I’m currently approaching a two-year streak.

What keeps me young at heart is discovering new places and activities with my grandchildren.
