Sign Language Elective!
Monday’s Sign Language class was a good one! I kicked things off by taking attendance completely in sign language. It’s a great way to practice receptive skills! After a review of last week’s signs, we moved on to numbers and colors. We also learned about our “signing space” and “fingerspelling space.” We ended with a worksheet and a fingerspelling memory game.
FUNdamentals of Music Elective!
We were busy! Students practiced the moving partner song, I Let Her Go Go, listened to Vivaldi’s Autumn and discussed the instruments, tempo and dynamics. Students then drew a pictured inspired by the music. We recited the poem, Miss White Had a Fright, clapped the rhythm and are learning to play the melody on mallet instruments. We notated 4 beat patterns of quarter, eighth and quarter rests and matched rhythms to fall words. We played Boomwhackers and stamped, clapped and snapped to Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra!
