Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Letter from the Principal: Apr. 19, 2019

Dear Spectrum Family and Friends,

What an amazing school we have.  At Spectrum, inquiry, experiential learning, and student engagement are second to none. Thank you to students, staff, and parents that made our Interest Groups and Fine Arts Showcase a great success! I am humbled and proud at the same time.

Monday is Earth Day! I became an educator to help save the planet and to protect species from extinction caused by human action. I’ve asked teachers to “do something” with their students to mark the importance of recognizing that our actions have both positive and negative impacts on the environment. For my action this Earth Day, I am doing a campaign with Sierra Club. If you would like to donate to my page, the information is below.

Thank you!

Dr. Mary Beth Cunat

Happy Earth Month! This April, I’m raising money to benefit Sierra Club because I care about clean drinking water, breathable air, and a healthy planet. I’ve set a goal to raise $50 by Earth Day, April 22 and I need your help. Together, each small donation can make a big difference. Will you donate $5 towards my goal?

You can learn more about why this is so important to me and donate by visiting my page here:

Sierra Club is the country’s largest environmental grassroots non-profit organization.  Since their inception 127 years ago, they’ve helped to:

  • Establish and protect 439 National Parks and Monuments
  • Retire 281 coal plants (over half America’s plants)
  • Commit 114 cities to 100% renewable energy
  • Make the outdoors more accessible with 15,000 outings per year

I care about what Sierra Club does, and I want them to be able to continue this important work to protect our planet.  I hope you’ll join me in this effort.
