Thinking, Creating, Reflecting: Impacting the Future

Travelers’ Tales! Mar. 28 – Apr. 1

The Hungry Caterpillar!

This week, we will be reading a few stories from the author Eric Carle.

Book: The Hungry Caterpillar

We set up a tray of red & green pom poms and let the Travelers create their own caterpillars ?

Skill we worked on: “just a dot, not a lot“ when using glue bottles!

String!

Some classmates experimented with string. They were trying to figure out how to attach string to a chair and pull it without the chair falling over. Next they tried pulling a classmate who sat on the chair. This was not so easy to do! They found it much easier to not use the string and just push or pull with their hands only.

Butterflies!

We talked about the life cycle of a butterfly.

We used sequence cards to retell The Very Hungry Caterpillar story.

Craft: coffee filter butterflies!

On Thursday, we celebrated Miss. Olivia’s birthday. Happy Birthday Miss. Olivia!

It snowed outside Thursday, but inside we found caterpillars and butterflies!

The Tiny Seed!

After reading The Tiny Seed, we talked about parts of a flower and what flowers needs to grow.

Science experiment: Color-changing flowers.

How long do you think it will take for the flowers to change colors?
